March 27 1999 - Jacksonville. Maple Sugar Saturday. Pancake breakfast 7:30 am to 10 am; Operating Sugar House Tours all day; Sugar-on-snow Dinner 5 pm to 7 pm with ham, baked beans, potatoe salad. Jacksonville Municipal Center.
Third week in January - Lake Whitingham, Harriman Ice Fishing Derby. Held annually on Lake Whitingham on the 3rd Saturday of January (unsafe ice date two weeks later), the Harriman Ice Fishing Derby, sponsored by the Deerfield Valley Sportsmen Club, is a two day fun filled family event. Join the 1000 + participants and try your luck in winning your share of the total prize list of $50,000 starting with the 1st prize of $10,000 in cash or a new truck and many more prizes from two new snowmobiles to $25.00 in cash.
